August 09 - Skiing In The Summer

This summer hasn't been too bad, apart from the fact that it was boiling hot in Ski gear, lots of fun and even more improvement. At the start of August I flew out to Saas-Fee to get some training done on snow to prepare me for the forthcoming winter season. This was an awesome week for me as I was taught by the one and only James Woods. I managed to throw down 7 Japan's of the big kicker and cork 7's of the small kicker.

After Saas-Fee, I stayed at home for a while to relax. Got some skiing done at Sheffield Ski Village and, with recent temporary mangament, we were able to get the rail out and practice on them for like the first time in years! Learned blind 270's, pretzel 270's and switch up's.

At the end of August I travelled over to Manchester to take part in the three day Grom Camp and, thanks to the help of Andy Bennet, learnt 270 on to rails, 450 onto a massively wide box and learnt to do switch tricks off the kicker, throwing down switch 180's and switch 360's with a variety of grabs. After the last day of the camp I travelled straight down to Norfolk for the Farmer's Jam, not a brilliant idea to travel down on the Friday before Bank Holiday Monday. There was a huge mix up during the competition! Won't go into detail, but I was very annoyed/upset. However, I still got some practice in and learnt switch 540 critical and switch 720.

All in All an amazing summer for my skiing. Thanks for reading catch up again in October for September's Review.

Finally, coming will be a monthly video blog made by me and my brother so keep checking my page!
