I've just bought a new tent, the Vango Zanzibar 800 which is an 8 man.It was the last one as Vango have stopped making it due to it's weight, it weighs in at about 88k including poles this is because the flysheet is canvas, i got it at a great price of just £575 from www.jrleisure.co.uk

This beast truly has massive living space and is my idea of the perfect tent. The steel pole tunnel structure and zip off canopy makes the maximum use of space while being easy to pitch.

I tried the lighter polyester tents but found them just too hot inside when the sun shines on them and one thing i can't stand is being hot so i compromised the weight for being cooler under canvas.

I'll be giving it a trial erection in the park on Friday, I'm just hoping it's not too big for the campsite we normally stop at as the tent is 6m x 510m and needs a pitching area of 7m x 6.5m
