VANS Park Pro
The Thursday of the Boardmasters is the day that skateboarding really
arrives in Newquay. This will be the 4th year of the Vans Park Pro and
it is now a fixed date in UK skating. Most of the UK scene head down to
Newquay for the comp at Wooden Waves before enjoying the rest of the
weekend in sunny Newquay. If you were down for the last couple of years
you will remember the Beachtrip Hotel. There were some amazing times
down there especially after Powley built a mini ramp in ther. RIP The
Beachtrip.
Last year competition was fierce as the contest got underway on a hot
afternoon with a large number of qualifying groups each containing some
of the best professional skaters in the country plus hot new talent on
the scene.
Vans sponsored rider Chris Oliver caught the judges eye and deservedly took 1st place.
Results
1. Chris Oliver
2. Ben Raemers
3. Ross McGouran
4. Kris Vile
